9 years ago, Stanton Heights residents had a bold idea:
come together as a community and create a mural on the steps between Stanton Ave & McCandless St.
After a lot of work, advocacy, and waiting, the project is finally underway!
We have partnered with artists Elizabeth Klevens and Stevo to bring this project to life.

The Plan
The artists made a design and presented it to the board. The board provided feedback.
The artists are coming to the 2025 October Neighbor Night to present their revised design for community feedback. Come!
We will be hosting workshops at Contemporary Craft from November through February for community members to come and learn how to mosaic tile. The community will then take home a step and all the materials necessary to complete their mosaic contribution.
Community members will drop off their completed step at Contemporary Craft.
Armed with all the completed steps, the Artists will install and grout the tile mosaic onto the steps.
We will have a big party!
The Design
Elizabeth Klevens and Stevo have gone through 3 separate round of revisions with the Board and community to come to these designs. Here they are!
